Development - A Sneak Peak into our Creative Process
The evolution of a musical is front and center as we take a very different path in our approach to the connective tissue of this project. Below you’ll see where we started. Originally titled ALL FALL DOWN and lead by a kind of traveling salesman/carnival emcee we called BARKER, we had the inspiration while working on another project to reimagine the lead character as a young troubled female musician we call TROUBADOUR. With a female lead, we also decided to make all of the tales female-centric in some fashion -so we extracted Once Begun, the consensual cannibal musical, and inserted Killing Children, another horrifying true tale of two lesbian mothers who adopted five children and drove themselves and their children over a cliff in California.
