Robert Maril hails from Ponca City, Oklahoma and holds degrees from DePauw University in Greencastle, IN and the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore. Since 2004, Robert has worked extensively with composer George Lam. With Dr. Lam and composer Ruby Fulton and singers Elisabeth Halliday and Bonnie Lander, Robert is a founding member of Rhymes With Opera, an ensemble committed to staging new dramatic vocal works by emerging composers. In addition to his work in classical music, indie music, and theater, Robert is an in-demand DJ, having manned the decks at Barracuda, The Eagle, The Box, The Ritz, Easternbloc, Rockbar, The Cock, and the long-running Stonewall Inn party RIOT!, a dance party that benefits homeless GLBT youth.
